History
RFI began as Indiana Metal Coatings in 1991, then changed its name to Rightway Fasteners, Inc., (RFI) in 1995. RFI was established as a joint venture in the USA from four well established Japanese owned companies; Meidoh Co. Ltd., Nagoya Dacro, Toyota Tsusho America and Sannohashi.
RFI has been able to successfully build upon the knowledge and
expertise of its shareholder companies.
RFI has become a leader in the automotive fastener industry.
In 2003, RFI expanded its product line by establishing two new joint
ventures. One with Owari Seiki to create OSR which manufactures
screws. Another with Sugiura Seisakusho to create Sunright America,
which manufactures nuts.
Milestones include:
Mar 1991- Established Indiana Metal Coatings
(IMC)
Dec 1991- Construction of first plant completed.
Mar 1993-First plant expansion completed.
Dec 1995- Changed name to Rightway Fasteners, Inc. (RFI) and began major facility expansion for new process of bolt manufacturing.
Mar 1996- Expansion for bolt manufacturing completed.
May 1996- Bolt manufacturing equipment becomes operational.
Sep 1998- Zinc Plating facility completed and operational
Jul 1999- Completed additional plant expansion for mfg process
Nov 2000- Received QS 9000 Registration
July 2001- Purchased neighboring building (From Toyota Tsusho)
Sep 2002- Received ISO 9001 Registration
Jan 2003- Started nut and screw operations through joint ventures with Owari and Sugiura.
Jan 2004- Received ISO 14001:1996 Registration
Aug 2004- Warehouse expansion completed
Aug 2006- Wire Facility expansion completed
Dec 2009- Received ISO/TS 16949 Certification
